„We are aware of media reports regarding an Aerial Reconnaissance & Targeting Exploitation Multi-Mission Intelligence System (ARTEMIS) flight in the Black Sea region on Dec. 3. There was no emergency and at no time were lives at risk. This was a normal air space de-confliction to ensure safe flight in controlled airspace“, - Department of Defense Spokesman Lieutenant Colonel Anton T. Semelroth said in an exclusive comment with Europe Time.
„We routinely conduct these types of flights and all operations are conducted in full coordination with countries in the region. Security cooperation activities such as these demonstrate a shared commitment to maintaining a safe and secure Europe“, - Department of Defense Spokesman Lieutenant Colonel Anton T. Semelroth said.
According to Russian media „Russia hands note of protest to US warning of consequences of US, NATO provocations“, a letter of protest was sent to the US Embassy in Moscow in response to air incidents in the Black Sea.
According to Media, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Russian Federation pointed out that the „unacceptable and dangerous activity of NATO aircraft, when warplanes belonging to the US and its allies conduct flights without radio communication, without providing flight plans to or obtaining permission from air traffic controllers, poses severe risks to the safety of civil flights“.
