SEU University Medical Students Secure Third Place for Georgia at International Olympiad

Georgia ranks #3 among nations at Medicine of the Future 2026, the 3rd International Medical Olympiad.

The Olympiad was held for the third time this year, with 102 teams from different countries around the world.

Georgia was represented by SEU REACT, a team from the Georgian National University SEU, comprising five students: Riyaa Mehta, Pranjal Patil, Shane Christian, Faisal Altaf, and Tengiz Maisuradze.

Switzerland, Italy, and Georgia secured the top three positions in the overall country rankings.

Participants tested their practical clinical skills in five areas: ultrasound imaging, minimally invasive surgical procedures, endotracheal intubation, gynecological examination, and newborn care.

According to the university, SEU's team's achievement once again highlights the importance of its international student environment and practice-oriented medical education. The success of students competing under the Georgian flag, including Indian students, serves as another significant example of educational cooperation between Georgia and India.
