Mediterranea University and International Agreements with International Black Sea University and Georgian National University

An Italian delegation from the Mediterranea University (Università Mediterranea) visited Tbilisi, led by the University’s Rector, Giuseppe Zimbalatti. The delegation also included Professor Massimiliano Ferrara, Director of the University’s international scientific Decisions LAB, whose visit was marked by a significant academic distinction — the awarding of an Honorary Doctorate (Dottorato honoris causa) in Computer Science.   During the visit, Mediterranea University signed strategic cooperation agreements with two leading Georgian universities — Georgian National University SEU and the International Black Sea University (IBSU). Two Strategic Cooperation Agreements The Memorandum of Understanding signed with SEU provides for student and faculty exchanges, the development of joint courses and academic programmes, dual-degree programmes, joint research projects, and participation in international calls and grant programmes. The agreement signed with the International Black Sea University opens new opportunities for students and researchers in the fields of education, scientific research and international academic mobility, while also creating a framework for joint projects and initiatives. The meetings and cooperation activities were attended by Dr. Gia Kavtelishvili, Rector of SEU, Luka Kavtelishvili, Rector of the International Black Sea University, the Vice-Rectors and representatives of both universities, including Vice-Rector Dr. Nina Elisabedashvili and Dr. Nina Maziashvili, with whom Mediterranea University’s Decisions LAB is collaborating within the framework of a joint project. The visit to Tbilisi and the agreements signed represent an important step towards strengthening academic, scientific and international cooperation between Georgian and Italian universities.
